SJL Solutions has an immediate opening for a Technical Project Manager supporting the Department of Veterans Affairs Enterprise Testing Services (VA ETSS) located in Washington, D.C.  SJL Solutions is responsible for the software testing and quality assurance of the VA Electronic Health Record Modernization (EHRM) effort.  We are looking for a talented, motivated, independent self-starter for a challenging position supporting a program designed to exponentially increase the level of care to our Nation’s Veterans and their families.

Required Skills and Experience:

·         Experienced performing technical project management.  Oversight of highly visible, technical projects

·         General IT system/solution/software engineering experience

·         Knowledge of software development or system implementation methodologies

·         Deep understanding of risk analysis / risk management, project planning, and project scheduling

·         Ability to keep organized and handle multiple projects at one time

·         Ability to lead the creation and own the production of high-quality status briefs and presentations

·         Perform level of effort analysis and project risk management utilizing MS Project

·         Leading the preparation and planning of valuable and efficient meetings and to ensure knowledge transfer

·         Excellent use of demonstratable methods of informational    organization, capturing, communication and recalling 

·         Ability to develop and execute various complexities of communication plans

·         Ability and willingness to learn the full scope of our projects

Preferred Skills:

·         Project/Program management supporting Federal agencies

·         VA/DoD/DHA/MHS experience

Education and Years of Experience:

·         Bachelor's Degree in a recognized technical, engineering, scientific, managerial, business, or other discipline related to area of expertise

·         Seven years of experience involved in large projects with demonstrated capability in the overall management of projects and contracts of similar type or complexity
